Craignay Self Catering Cottage
Dulnain Bridge - near Aviemore
In the Cairngorms National Park, Scottish Highlands
Accommodation for eight people in four bedrooms.
An ideal base from which to explore the Cairngorms National Park
Open from mid March to early November only.
Craignay has Total Control off-peak electric room heating. A Scandinavian wood burning Jotul stove adds to the ambience and warmth of the living/dining room. An air to air heat pump was installed in January 2013 to try out this relatively new 'green' sustainable technology. This system extracts heat from the ambient air outside and the fan heater helps to maintain a low back-ground warmth in the core of the house. This is boosted by the more traditional room heaters.
The cottage was renovated in 2009, while maintaining the traditional varnished pine panelling and doors.
Craignay is situated east of the old A95 road entering from the south into the village of Dulnain Bridge from Aviemore, about 300 yards from the high bridge over the River Dulnain and the junction with the A938 road between Carrbridge and Grantown-on-Spey.
